The Effect ofTeaching Spiritual Intelligence on the Response to Educational Stress, Educational Self-efficacy and Social Adjustment of Third Grade Female Students in Shabestar

Abstract

Spiritual intelligence and its impact on the behavioral variables, is a relatively new, yet important issue that has been the focus of researchers. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Spiritual intelligence on the response to educational stress, educational self-efficacy and social adjustment of female students. This study has a semi-experimental research design and the pretest-posttest control group. The study population included all secondary school students in the city of Shabestar and the sample of this study was 30 third grade high school students (each group, n=15) who were selected using random sampling. Data were collected by questionnaire of academic stress, academic self-efficacy questionnaire and social adjustment questionnaire, each one having an acceptable reliability and validity. The hypotheses of this study, were tested by using analysis of covariance. The findings of this study showed that the Spiritual intelligence training had an impact on the academic stress of the students. The findings of the present study also indicated that the Spiritual intelligence training had an effect on the social adjustment of the students (P<0/001). The results also showed that the Spiritual intelligence training significantly increased the students' response to stress, academic self-efficacy and their social adjustment.
