Abstract

The aim of current research was to investigate mediating role of COMMITMENT in relationship between IDENTITY STYLES and eudemonic and hedonistic well-being. A number of 320 male and female students (age mean=20.76 and S.D=2.16) were selected from different faculties of University of Tehran via multistage cluster sampling method. The Identity Style Inventory version 4 (ISI-4) of Philips and Pitman and Keyes Well-being were used. Using path analysis as finding showed, the acceptable fitness with the theoretical model. Result showed; the informative style had direct and significant relation with EUDEMONIC WELL-BEING and indirect relation with both well-beings from COMMITMENT way; the normative style had direct and significant relation with HEDONIC WELL-BEING and indirect relation with both well-beings from COMMITMENT way; the avoidant/diffusion style had negative relation with EUDEMONIC WELL-BEING via COMMITMENT.
