Abstract

Enhancement to desired Quality in education is one of the most important objectives among Higher Education centers. According to World Federation of MEDICAL EDUCATION, MEDICAL EDUCATION quality has been increased specially in General Medicine since two decades ago. This is the reason ofpeople’s expectation from General physicians has been increased, and the graduates relatively don’t feel completely satisfied by the education they’ve passed. This study was performed under the goal of General Medicine Course EVALUATION from GRADUATED Medical Students’ point of view based on AAMC. The present research was a mixed method study in two quantitative and qualitative sections. In quantitative section, the target population consisted of all General Medicine graduates; the data gathering tool was a translated AAMC questionnaire that its validity was checked by MEDICAL EDUCATION experts and its reliability was 86%; then data were analyzed using SPSS14; While Qualitative section was done under Focus Group method consisting of number of medical students and experts of SUMS; Total of 55 students including 44 (80%) female and 11 (20%) male students completed the questionnaires. In addition, 40% of participants in major wards evaluated the quality of instruction well whereas 60% of the rest subjects considered better quality for the minor wards. Although different medical groups are working in Shiraz Medical School, it seems there’s a need for a more dynamic development in educational parts of the medical schools in order to train physicians.
