Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the consumption expenditures of urban households in IRAN using a linear approximation ALMOST IDEAL DEMAND SYSTEM (LA-AIDS) model base on PANEL DATA method and extraction of income and PRICE ELASTICITY of interest groups. For this purpose, seven categories of goods and services including food and beverage, footwear and apparel, transportation, communications, hotels and restaurants, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, and other groups were considered and estimated share of each groups by applying a seemingly unrelated regression method and data years of 1380-1389 for 10 cost declines in urban area.Results indicate that the PRICE ELASTICITY of consumer groups is based on theoretical expectations and negative and sensitive of high groups to price changes is higher. INCOME ELASTICITY indicates that food and beverage, footwear and apparel are component of essential and normal goods and other goods are normal and luxury.
