Abstract

Recognition and explanation of language is a complex, vivid, fruitful, and evolving phenomenon in the study of comparative semantics, . Understanding the characteristics of this phenomenon requires a detailed approach and a deep mining in the motifs of creation, formation, and production of linguistic units. It is a necessity which is revealed more than before in the passage of time and with the steady progress in linguistics and the related fields. Along with these studies and researches, several branches and linguistic approaches such as analysis of speech, semantics, pragmatics, and critical analysis of speech have been crystallized. This study is an analysis of typology – semantics of two story, Al-Shehaz by Naguib Mahfouz, and The Little Black Fish by Samad Behrangi. The study tries to examine the process of typology – semantics of the discourse based on the study model of Greimas. Getting rid of the current situation is the common point between these two works. In this paper, I seek to review the major elements involved in the production of meaning. In other words, what are the mechanisms for meaning production in these two works? The purpose of this study is to evaluate the traditionary features of these two works, Omar Al-Hamzavi, the hero of the novel Al-Shehaz, wants to get rid of a disease that has no natural cause or complications and is merely an attempt to escape and change the status quo. In “ Little Black Fish” , the black fish, which is also the hero of the story, tries to escape a stage any stoppage at which will bring him down to the pit of destruction. This common ground and escape from the status quo make the activist struggle to free himself and consequently a meaning is created. In order to determine how the narration passes through itself to break the siege of narrative and to create narrative diversity. The research method is descriptive-analytical.
