IDENTIFICATION OF EFFECTIVE FACTORS ON KNOWLEDGE CREATION OF FACULTY MEMBERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

 Knowledge is detected source of fundamental changes and KNOWLEDGE CREATION is essential in the community development. With help of the FACULTY MEMBERS, HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS can play important role in this field. This study aimed to identify factors affecting the KNOWLEDGE CREATION of FACULTY MEMBERS. The study was done with qualitative method and phenomenological approach. Participant were selected with intensity sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection tool was semi-structured interview and thematic analysis was used to analyze the interviews. The findings suggest that factors affecting the KNOWLEDGE CREATION of FACULTY MEMBERS can be divided into two groups: individual factors and contextual factors. Individual factors are inherent characteristics, interest in knowledge, mastery of knowledge, personal experiences, concern about community service, imagination, spirit of inquiry, defamiliarization, positive perfectionism, academic identification, critical thinking, professional growth, scientific resilience, Pen, morality. Contextual factors are education, community expectations, academic freedom, knowledge resources, time and financial opportunities, reward system, scientific community. Based on the performed analyzes, individual factors are more effective than contextual factors and improvement of many identified individual factors are achieved in the education.
