The developed of educational handicapping model

Abstract

 Purpose: pressures during this period, so the purpose of this study was to develop and test a model of the relationship between Coping Styles and Academic self handicapping with the mediating role of Resilience and Hope. Method: The method of this descriptive-correlational study was structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study consisted of all male and female high school students in Kamyaran city in the academic year 1396-1397. 330 students were selected by cluster random sampling based on the Mü ller's rule. Academic self-handicapping scales, academic resiliency, Schneider Hope Questionnaire and Lazarus Coping Strategies Scale were used for data collection. Results: The results showed that the effect of Coping Styles on Hope and Resilience was positive and significant. Also, the direct effect of Coping Styles on self-handicapping was negative and significant. The effect of Resilience on self-handicapping and Hopefully on self-handicapping was negative and significant. The results of this study indicate the importance of coping resources in reducing self-handicapping and increasing academic achievement.
