Abstract

Introductions: The role of virtual instruction is to provide the clients with easy, quick, cheap and reliable access to all the issues and processes of academic education. This paper is designed to examine the most recent medical findings and articles about virtual education.Literature review: Virtual education systems work based on the use of appropriate softwares to provide an academic framework for all education subject matters or programs. According to Norman (1999) the rationale for using virtual education is as follows:Assessing learners' needs, matching between the level of education and clients, satisfying the clients by fulfilling their local needs and easy access to uncomplicated, reliable and cheap technology for the clients.Edinburgh Electronic Medical curriculum in designing virtual education academic course has followed these stages which seem to be applicable to all educational courses. 1- preparing an educational program based on Norman's needs made. 2- providing educational facilities such as educational contact between the instructor and the students, electronic addresses for students, timed schedules for seminars and lectures, a place for visiting instructors in the university. 3- preparing educational based on the time and place in which the concerned topic is applicable. 4- standarding the educational programs: comparing the prepared programs with the standards for educational base and providing an applicable clinical plan for the students. 5-evaluating the learners' instructional system based on the hours of learners' educational contact with the system, and the instructor and the number of pages learned by the students each day.Discussion: The findings of different studies indicate that virtual academic education is an effective and successful system for appropriate organization of educational content and its proper evaluation. It is suggest to policy makers to incorporate such a system into Iran's academic education due to its low expenses.
