Abstract

n order to identify of major microbial agents that causing nosocomial infections and also detection of resistance drugs to current antibiotics to current antibiotics, a cross -sectional study was carried out in two hospitals of Medical Sciences University of Hamadan. In this study 620 samples were collected from faxilities, devices and different parts of intensive care unites (lCU) and cardiac care unites (CCU) for one year. The samples were also collected from air wards, floor ward, walls, Kitchen sink, sewage, hospital beds, saff"s clothes, gawns, staffs hands, suction, incubator, oxygen mask, ambobag mask, thermometre, manometre, ventilators, vaso -catheters, stethescope diaphragm, gavage liquid and electrode of ECG. The samples were cultured on E.M.B and Blood agar by sterile wet cotten swab. A smear was also prepared for gram staining dye. After detection of microbial agents, strains were performed for antibiogram by agar disk diffusion method. The mean of frequency of contamination was 32. 7% in two hospitals. The distribiution of gram negative bacteria was 42.3% and gram positive bacteria were also 57.7%. The rate of contamination in ICU was 31.5% and in CCU was 33.9% respectively. The most important bacteria were: Micrococci species, Staph aurous and epidermidis, E.coli, Bacillus subtilis, klebsiella, Enterobacter, Pseudomonas, Diphtheroieds and Entercocci. The most drugs resistance were observed in Staphilococci, Microcci, Klebsiella, Enterococci and Pseudomonas aneroginosa. There was high resistancy for ampicillin, tetracycline, sulfametaxazol and penicillin.
