Abstract

Venous air embolism is a rare complication of endoscopic sinus surgery. The common sources of major venous air emboli (V. A. E) are the cerebral venous sinuses, but it may occur in all of surgical fields above the level of the heart (l, 2,7).Monitors employed for detection of V. A. E are combination of Trans -esophageal echo cardiography (T. E. E) or precordial Doppler and expired CO2 monitoring. Management of an acute air embolic event is based on perverting further air entry and treatment the intravascularair (3, 6, 4).In this paper we have reported a case of V. A. E in a patient undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery and managing the complications of V. A. E.
