Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the extent of the vocational BURNOUT among FACULTY MEMBers of Shahid Beheshti university; as well as the relationship of BURNOUT with some demographic variables. The research sample was 156 (116 male and 40 female) FACULTY MEMBers of Shahid Beheshti University. The sampling method used was classified. Measurement instrument in this study was Maslach BURNOUT Inventory-Educatiors Surver (MBI-ES); and also a demografic scale. The results of the study showed that the degree of vocational BURNOUT in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment subscales was lower than the normal rate for teachers. The BURNOUT of married and highly experienced teachers was lower BURNOUT than the single teacher. Although emtional exhaustion and depersonalization among FACULTY MEMBers was low, nearly 50 percent of them experienced low personal accomplishment in their job.
