Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effetiveness of educational group counseling on promoting academic skills and achievements of high school students. The hypotheses were: 1- the means of academic skilld scores in the experimental group that benefit from educational group counsening and control group were different. 2- the means of academic achievement scores in the experimental group that benefit from educational group counsening and control group were different. The subjects were 36 high school students that were randomly selected and distributed in experimentel and control groups. The educational group counseling were administrated in six sessions in experimental group. Then the subjects were examined by academic skill questionnaire and mean score in achievement tests. the results were analysied with covariance and manova using SPSS software. The results showed that educated group counseling have increased the academic skills (p = 0.003) and academic achierements of experimental group (p = 0.001)
