Abstract

The first reference for admission for admission of ME clients is emergency ward. Regarding that ME is one of the priorities of health system research in the country, this descriptive cross sectional study was carried out for epidemiologic evaluation of ME-hospilalized patients in Khorramabad shahid Rahimi hospital during one year (2000).Sample size was 1220 HP that were 50 percent of the total HP in study period. A questionnaire used for data collection with observation, interview and using medical records.The results showed that of 1220 subjects, 57.8% were males, and age of 36.5% was 50-59 years old. 81.5% were married, 15.5% were referred by stretcher, 30.5% were referred in autumn. 79.5% were allert on admission 40.4% had cardia vascular emergency and 1.8% had died. The hospital cost for 12% was free. The mean of expense was 460540 RIs, and EKG was the most common taken measure. The correlation between REFERENCE CAUSES and age, expense, marital status sex; and death with PV=0.00 was significant .We suggest doing more studies as well as, those who are in charg of health and treatment services should provide and find pricipal strategies to offer optional services to EM clients in EM centers.
