Abstract

This cross-sectional study was performed on 1557 stool samples in a bi-stage cluster way of sampling to assess the infection rate to verotoxigenic E.Coli at rural and urban areas. stool samples, taken from families members, were tested by plantation, serum & biochemical examinations at both the places. The achieved results were compared with the variables of sex, age, etc. No significant difference was seen between the rate of separating verotoxigenic E.Coli and DIARRHEA in rural areas. This difference was significant in urban places, (P=0.001).the findings implied that E. Colis as the producers of VEROTOXIN (VTEC) are of importance in Ilam, and animal contacts as well. as using non-pasteurized raw milk are regarded as contaminants.
