Abstract

The present article has been taken of a research whose main goal was to determine the relationship between parents (adults) education with their children’s life skills at high schools in Eize City. Among different life skills, five have been selected which are as follows: the prevention of social hurt, interpersonal and social relationship, problem solving skill, self awareness and decision making skill. The population of the study consisted of the whole high school and pre-university students who were 8700 people. The research sample included around 358 people according to kerjsy & Morgan Table using random sampling method. The number of distributed questionnaires was 393, and 371 were collected at the end. The tool was the researcher-made questionnaire which was prepared by Hassanzade (1388), but it was rechecked by piloting, and its validity and reliability were confirmed. The students were asked to recognize their parent level of education with the selection of suitable alternatives provided in the research tool. Later, the collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics as frequency, percent frequency, mode, variance, standard deviation, skewness, and referential statistics as Spearman coefficient test and Q square test. The results showed that there is no relationship between adult's education and students' life skills improvement at %0.01 level of significance. There is also no relationship between the parents (adults–mothers & fathers) education and each of the students' skills improvement as social hurt prevention, interpersonal and social relationship, problem solving, self awareness, and decision making skills.
