Title

A STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF TEACHING CRITICAL THINKING ON UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENTS

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of teaching critical THINKING on university students’ achievement. The population consisted of 559 students who were conditional in one academic term out of which 84 students were chosen by random sampling. Correlation methods, according to PRE-TEST, treatment, and post-test were one-way ANOVA and t test. The result were are as follows: (a) There is a significant correlation between the test (teaching critical THINKING) and the students’ critical THINKING improvement; (b) there is a significant correlation between the test and the students’ academic achievement; (c) There is no significant correlation between the sex and academic field of studies and the test.
