Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study was to predict academic motivation based on school atmosphere and quality of life of students through self-regulatory mediation of single-parent students. Materials and Methods: The present study is a descriptive, quantitative and correlational study in terms of purpose and basic nature. The statistical population of the study, according to the statistics of Tehran Education Organization, was about 119681212 female high school students of the second period (tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades). The sample size was estimated based on common methods in structural equations of 350 people (for single-parent students). The sampling method was selected as a multi-stage cluster. In this study, in addition to the researcher-made demographic information form, Frederick et al. 's (2004) Academic enthusiasm Questionnaire, Lee et al. 's school atmosphere and Identity Questionnaire (2017), the quality of life and Sherbon Questionnaire (1992), and Bofardo et al. 's (1995) Selfregulation questionnaire were used. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test and structural equations using Spss software version 22. Findings: The five factors of student-staff relationship, school identity, common values and approach, school emphases and students' relationship with each other had a significant factor on the atmosphere and school identity of single-parent students. Physical and mental health were two significant dimensions of quality of life for single-parent students. Conclusion: The results showed that academic motivation based on school atmosphere and quality of life of students has a significant relationship with self-regulatory mediation of single-parent students.
