Abstract: 

The aerial parts of Thymuskotschyanus Boiss & Hohen were collected in three stages of plant growth (before, at the beginning and complete flowering) from research station of Sirachal. The essential oils of plant materials were isolated by steam-, hydro- and water-steam distillation from the aerial parts. The oils were analyzed by capillary GC and GC-MS. So, the effect of distillation methods and stages of plant growth on oil content and composition of Thymus kotschyanus was investigated. The oil yield, related to distillation method and stage of plant growth, was 0.28-1.80% w/w (the highest for complete flowering stage by hydrodistillation method). The main constitllents in all of the oils were carvacrol (46.74- 1.23%), thymol (7.51- 26.92 %), g-terpinene, p-cymene and borneol.

Abstract: 

The essential oil isolated by steam distillation from flowers of Oliveria decumbens Vent and was analyzed By GC and GC/MS. Among the 14 Compounds identified, the major components were carvacrol (29.7%), Thymol (15.11%), g-terpinene (20.46%) and p- cymene (15.40%).

Abstract: 

In order to compare essential oils composition of Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn. from there locations, it was collected from Noor Abad (Fars province), Behshahr (Mazandaran province) and Tehran (Tehran province) in Feb. 1999 and hydrodistilled in the phytochemistry lab of Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands.The oils were produced in light- yellow colors at the yields of 060%, 0.14% and 0.50%, respectively (based on fresh weights).The oils were analyzed by CGC-FID and GC/MS. Thirty-four compounds were identified in each one among which 1.8-cineole (48.8%, 1.0% and 2.5%) p- cymene (16.3%, 35.5% and 23.9%) and spathulenol (3.7%,2.7% and 15.4%)were the major constituents, respectively.

Abstract: 

The composition of the oils from flower and leaf of Achilleea vermicularis Trin. were collected during the flowering period. The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation method (Clevenger- type appratus). The percentage of oils for flower was 0.44% and for leaf were 0.71% calculated on the dry weight, andlyzed by GC and GC/MS.The major constituents in flower were camphor (31.2%), 1.8-cineole (24%), trans- p- menth- 2- en- 1- OI (14.8%), a-terpineol (5.3%) and for leaf were 1.8- cineole(25.7%), cemphor (21.4%), trans- p- me nth- 2- en- 1- 01 (18%) and sabinene (4%) respectively.

Abstract: 

Dracocephalum genus has eight annual and perennial aromatic species in Iran and among them Dracocephalum kotschy is a native species. Plant material was collected from Tehran province (kandovan tunnel) at the flowering stage.Air-dried aerial parts were subjected to steam distillation for 1 hour in an all glass apparatus to produce the oil in 0.5% w/w yield. The essential oil was analysed by GC and GC/MS. Twentysix components were identified, representing 87.8% of The oil with limonene (38.2%), Perillal de hyde (24.5%), Geranial (7.5%), a-Pinene (6.3%), Neral (6.1%) and cis-b Ocimene as the major constituents, respectively.

Abstract: 

Mentha longifolia (L). Hudson is from Lamiaceae family and have different varieties which essential oil content and the other Lamiaceae members seems to be influenced by environmental factors, in present study we select Mentha longifolia (L). Hudson var. Chlorodictya Rech. F. samples collected from two different habitats. The essential oils obtained by steam distillation, the percentage of all two oils were the dry weight and analysed by GC and GC/MS. The major constituents for sample-1 were p-menth-1-en- 9-o1 (62.1 %), a-caryophyllene (6.3%) and carvacrol (4.8%) and for sample-2 were p-menth-1-en-9-ol (36.1 %), 1,8-cineole (14.4%), piperitone (9.7%), carvacrol (9.3%) and germacrene D (901%).

Abstract: 

Carbohydrates are first material which made through photosynthetic in plant and one of the important groups in feed matter. Also, there are importance in pharmacology and remedy.Plants belonging to the monocotyledonous genus Aloe (Liliales) have for centuries know for their medicinal value. These compound are extracts from a variety of aloes have been reported, e. g. A. Vera, A. blicatilis, A. babadensis. Also Jell of Aloe vera have found wide application in the pharmaceutical industry. In this investigation Aloe vera Leaf collected from farm of research institute of forests and rangelands for determination carbohydrate by Antron methods by spectrophotometry (HITACHI 640) in 625 nm.The percent of total carbohydrates in Jell is 9.49% and skin of leaf is 23.35%.
