Abstract:

The purpose of present study was to compare the working memory in ADHD (predominantly inattention, predominantly hyperactive/impulsive) and normal children. For this reason, 13 subjects with predominantly inattention, 15 subjects with predominantly hyperactive/impulsive, and 14 normal primary school children were selected after clinical psychologist diagnosis, and in the base of teacher form of child screen inventory (CSI-4), then four subscales from Wechsler memory scale were administered. Results revealed that normal group obtained higher scores than predominantly inattention and predominantly hyperactive/impulsive groups in three Wechsler memory subscales (mental control, logic memory and association memory), but in numeric memory there was significant difference between control and hyperactive/ impulsive group and not inattention group. Also this study showed there isn’t significant difference between ADHD's subtypes in any subscales of Wechsler memory scales.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of Health locus of control and causality orientations in self-care behaviors in-patient with type II diabetes. In this correlational research, 60 patients from Tabriz Sina hospital were selected. All Participants were asked to complete Multidimentional Health Locus of control (MHLC) and General causality orientations (GCOS) and self- care behaviors (SDSC) scales. For analyzing data descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient, regression analysis, and independent t test were used. Results revealed that self-care behaviors did have a significant positive association with Internal health locus of control and negative association with chance locus of control. But there was not significant relationship between power others and self-care behaviors. Moreover, there was positive relationship between self care behaviors and autonomy, and significant negative association between self-care behaviors and Impersonal orientation. The results also revealed that internal control did have more roles in predicting self-care behaviors. In addition, the males and females did not differ significantly in self-care behaviors, health locus of control and causality orientations.

Abstract:

Abusing psychostimulant substances have increased dramatically within the past few years in Iran. The addictive drugs used by young people in Iran include: ecstasy, crystal, glass and heroine. It is known that these substances to cause the lesion of dopaminergic and serotonergic nerve terminals in brain.Depleting dopamine and serotonin transmitter in brain leads to the impairment of learning and memory tasks. The current research has been conducted to compare the effect of intraperitoneal injection of ecstasy, crystal, glass and heroin on passive avoidance learning in male rats. Male adult rats were used and passive avoidance learning test was performed in the shuttle box instrument. The averages for different groups were compared using ANOVA followed by the student-Newman–Keuls. The results showed that intraperitoneal injection of ecstasy, crystal, glass and heroin (5, 10, 15 mg/kg) significantly decreased step-through latency. Also crystal did have the most impairment effect on learning and memory.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting life satisfaction in Tabriz university students, considering endogenous and exogenous variables such as socioeconomic status (SES), Religiosity and Mental health components. Therefore the 495 students (246 women, 249 man) completed the religiosity, mental health, life satisfaction and demographic questionnaires. Data were analyzed by path analysis with LISREL package. The results indicated that direct effect of religiosity on mental health components and life satisfaction was significant. Also the direct effect of anxiety, depression, and social function on life satisfaction was significant and the direct effect of SES on indogenous variables (mental health component and life satisfaction) except anxiety was not significant, also the relationship between somatic symptoms with life satisfaction and religiosity with somatic symptoms was not significant. From the indirect routes only religiosity path to life satisfaction with 0.95 probabilities was significant. This means that religiosity through effects on anxiety, depression, somatic symptoms, social function, effects on life satisfaction. The life satisfaction variance explanted by the predictor variables is %23, that is significant.

Abstract:

The aim of present study was to investigate the effectiveness of 4 educational methods on the moral judgment of senior female students. Participants of the study were 116 female senior students which selected via cluster random sampling.Participants assigned into 4 interventional and 1 control groups. The Defining Issues Test (DIT), was used for collecting data from the level of student’s moral judgment. This test was invented by j-rest and Minnesota group. The DIT is the famous and applying test for collecting data in the moral judgment field.Analysis of covariance was used for analyzing of collected data. After 60 days education, analysis of data revealed that, educational methods can enhance the moral judgment of female students, and cognitive moral education was the most effective method in enhancing of the moral judgment. The direct method was the best method. Finally the value clarification method was the worst and low influential method in enhancing moral judgment in the female students.

Abstract:

The aim of this investigation was to determine the relationship between quality of work life (QWL) and career anchors with organizational performance perspectives among faculty members of universities of Ardabil, Urmia, and Tabriz. This is a descriptive-correlational study. The sample included 167 faculty members which were selected randomly according to university and faculty. Two researcher-made questionnaires were used for data collection. The first one is QWL questionnaire based on Richard Walton's and the second was organizational performance perspectives questionnaire based on Kaplan and Norton model. The standardized questionnaire of career anchors based on Edgar Schein's model was also utilized in Persian and adapted to community norms before using. The data was analyzed through MANOVA. The results revealed that: 1- There was a positive and significant relationship between safe and healthy working conditions and opportunity for continued growth and security with organizational performance perspectives (p<0.02). 2- There was a positive and significant relationship between each component of organizational performance perspectives with all components of QWL (p<0.02).3- There was a significant relationship between technical/functional competency and general managerial competency with all components of career anchors (p<0.05).4-There was a significant relationship between each component of organizational performance perspectives with all components of career anchors (p<0.01).

Abstract:

The selecting and using inappropriate authority resources by teachers is a factor, which increase students’ misbehaviors. According to the social authority category developed by French & Raven, in this study, teacher’s authority resources classified to five domains: expert, referent, legitimate, reward and coercive authority. The sample consisted of 491 high school students, which selected through cluster random sampling. The results revealed that the highest rate of misbehaviors was in coercive authority implementation condition. This rate decreased in the legitimate implementation condition, reward and expert authority implementation condition. The lowest student’s misbehaviors rate was seen in the referent authority implementation condition. Also, the rate of misbehaviors among boys were higher than girls in coercive authority implementation condition. Another part of the results showed that the more the fathers’ education, the higher indiscipline in punitive authority situation by the students. In addition, between the levels of academic achievement and the amount of indiscipline in terms of application of various sources of teacher authority significant relationship was found. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that teachers had better use the authority source of reference and among male students and they who have high academic achievement levels and high socioeconomic class, the punitive authority should be in minimal level.

Abstract:

The study's aim that is a clinical trail and concentrated on cognitive problems in mentally ill patient was to examine insight in mood disorders in relation to type of mood episode (depression-mania), psychotic state (without psychotic symptoms , with mood-congruent psychotic symptoms, with mood-incongruent psychotic symptoms), and insight change over the episode. Eighty-six hospitalized patients with psychiatric disorder (manic and major depressive episode) by clinician and psychiatrist were interviewed and assessed by SUMD in admission and discharge. Results shown that at admission, mania patients had more severe insight impairment that depressive ones. Depressive patients with psychosis had poorer insight than those without psychosis, and mania patients had poor insight irrespective of the presence of psychotic symptoms. At discharge, some insight impairment was observed in mania. As for of results concludes lack of insight and self-awareness defects was a prevalent condition in patients with psychotic depression and mania.
