The subjects were all female high school first grades. The sample consists of 50 students in two randomly selected groups. (Experimental group and control group). The measurement instrument, California individual social adjustment CTP-180. The procedure was conducted according to pretest and post-test model with one control group, meaning that the individual-social adjustment was administered to both groups. First, the pretest revealed no significant difference. Then the experimental group was assigned to an 8-session training program. At the end of the experiment both the control and the experimental groups were tested again. The results then were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results showed that training for anger control skills caused an increase individual-social adjustment of the female students in the experimental group.

Abstract:

This research is of causal-comparative research type done with the aim of comparing selective information processing and the role of cognitive attention in the process of anxiety disorders (GAD and PTSD). In this research three groups of subjects including a normal group, the group with generalized anxiety disorder and the group of cases with post-traumatic stress disorders (selected of psychological clinics and private psychiatrics clinics in Neyshabour) were selected randomly and then tested in a stroop test and a recognition test. The results of the study indicated that patients with generalized anixiety disorder was compared with other groups, their attention bias was toward signs of physical and social threat. Although patients with PTSD showed attention bias just toward threatening signs of PTSD, processing these stimuli selectively. One other findings of the study indicates that in contrast with more processing of signs of social and physical threat in the generalized anxiety disorder group and threat signs related to PTSD group, three groups were related to remembering the sings after the test.

Abstract:

The purpose of the present research was to compare mathematics anxiety among high school prep students based on perfectionism typology. In order to accomplish the study, the subjects composed of 232 students (120 boys and 112 girls) were randomly selected with multistage sampling from Khoramshahr high school prep schools. Perfectionism and mathematics anxiety were measured using Frost's Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS) and Fennema-Sherman's Mathematics Anxiety Scale (MAS) respectively. Based on the results of this study and according to Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC), supported by FMPS, students can be classified into three groups. Using cluster analysis the students were classified into normal perfectionism, non-normal perfectionism and non-perfectionism types. The One way ANOVA result showed that the mean mathematics anxiety had differed significantly among the three groups of students (P<0.05). The results of Scheffe test also showed that normal perfectionism students had less mathematics anxiety than other students (P<0.05).

Abstract:

Health is a multidimensional concept which, besides lack of illness, includes the feelings of happiness and well-being .The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the dimensions of psychological well-being and general health among university students. The present study is a correlation research. Hence, a sample of 145 students from Islamic Azad university of Azadshahr was randomly chosen. The participants responded to a booklet which, in turn, included three different instruments: a Demographic Questionnaire developed by the researcher himself, a General Health Questionnaire, and scales of Psychological well-being. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicate that the mean of disorder subscale in the social function of General Health Questionnaire (CHQ) was higher than other factors (M=7.3) and depression had the lowest mean (M=4.08). The results of this research study showed that there is negative and significant relationship between psychological well-being (self-acceptance, positive relation with others, autonomy, purpose in life, personal growth, environmental mastery) and general health (p<0.01, r=-0.589). 35 percent of variance changes in general health scores was anticipated with psychological well-being scores.

The aim of this research was to study the simple and multiple relationships of achievement motive and psychological hardiness with sensation-seeking and accountability among employees of different branches of a bank in Isfahan .A random sample of 132 was selected. The sample completed the three research questionnaires. By applying correlation and regression analysis, the results indicated that the achievement motive had a negative and significant relationship with sensation-seeking (r=-0.38, P<0.05), but a positive and significant relation with accountability (r=0.29, P<0.01). Also psychological hardiness had a positive and significant relation with sensation-seeking (r=0.59, P<0.01), but had no a significant relation with accountability (P>0.05). In addition to this, multiple correlation of achievement motive and psychological hardiness with sensation-seeking (R=0.62, P<0.001) were higher than each variable alone. Furthermore, multiple correlation of achievement motive and psychological hardiness with accountability (R=0.31, P<0.05) were higher than their simple correlation.
