The current research was intended to study the students’ identity and the factors affecting it. This study was derived from another study with the same title. The dependant variable was national identity and the independent variable ones were: maintaining political borders, interest in Persian language, awareness of Iranian history, interest in cultural heritage, awareness of national symbols, familiarity with national scholars, believing in Islam, believing in national customs, interest in national arts, social bias, social awareness, social interactions, field of education, and social participation. To obtain the required information, a designed questionnaire was implemented. The participants included all secondary students from Tehran’s 7th district randomly sampled. The questionnaire was distributed to the students. The results were: Such variables as interest in Persian language, awareness of Iranian history, interest in national arts, familiarity with national scholars, believing in Islam, awareness of national symbols, believing in national customs, and social participation were affecting students’ identity’ while social interaction, interest in cultural heritage, and maintaining political borders were not that effective.
