Abstract:

This study aimed at making a scale for assessing juvenile delinquency and determining its factor structure and validation. After examining the related tools and taking into account cultural conditions, social properties and sociological theories of Iran the multi-dimensional scale of juvenile delinquency was provided in 20 items. Survey research was applied and all students of the city of Abadan participated in this study. Two hundred students, from different districts of ministry of education, were selected through cluster sampling. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were administered to analyze data. Exploratory factor analysis as well as its major factors indicated a four-dimensional scale for juvenile delinquency (drug addiction, ethical criminals, petty offences, and outlaw). The test result was satisfactory, KMO equal to 0/75, and Bartlett’s test was significant statistically. In addition, those dimensions could define 40.05 percent of variance of juvenile delinquency scale. Meanwhile, Cronbach Alpha of all major and minor scales were respectively equal to 0.85, 0.89, 0.82, 0.70 and 0.62. Thus, the reliability and validity of the scale were accurate so that they can be used in assessing juvenile delinquency.

Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to study the comparative approach of Aristotle and Farabi's philosophical method to examine the extent of differences and similarities in solving philosophical problems. The research method is a theoretical research method which has been done by content analysis and with a qualitative approach. Information gathering tools have been used to collect information from different books and through library research. To give attention to the differences and similarities, the first is a description of Aristotle and Farabi's method in solving philosophical problems. Subsequently, the characteristics of the philosophical method of each of these two philosophers are expressed. Further, the difficulties of the philosophical method of each philosopher are discussed. It seems that the similarities of the philosophical method were more than the means of differentiation, and thus the combination of these two methods can be claimed to have modeled Farabi in his philosophical method of Aristotle. With the inspiration of Aristotle's ideas and with the full knowledge of the thoughts of Greek philosophers, especially Aristotle, and with the direct influence of him, Farabi seems to have, by adopting Aristotle's philosophical method, elucidates Aristotle's ideas in the form of his philosophical method, Of course there are differences with Aristotle. Farabi's methodology has been based on principled, phrasal, hierarchical, and systematic, non-conflicting, evolutionary and peaceful conflicts that have not been of interest to Aristotle.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to develop an academic engagement model based on the classroom socio-mental climate and emotional factors of the family with the mediating role of academic resilience. The design of the research was a correlation of the structural equation model. The statistical population consists of the students of the first grade high school (the eighth and ninth grades) of Khorramabad city. A multi-stage stratified random sampling method was used that 310 high school students (the eighth and ninth grades) were selected with this method and they responded to the questionnaires of academic engagement, classroom socio-mental climate, emotional factors of the family and academic resilience. Data were analyzed with the help of AMOS software and structural equation modeling method. The results suggested that the academic engagement model has a generally acceptable fit, indicating that the data obtained from the sample confirm the proposed model. The results of direct regression coefficients between the research variables showed that the direct paths of classroom socio-mental climate and emotional factors of the family were not significant to the academic engagement, but other direct paths and two indirect paths were positive and significant. This suggests that academic resilience can mediate the relationship between the family's emotional factors and academic engagement, thus, it can be said that the classroom socio-mental climate and appropriate emotional factors in the family increase the academic resilience, and the result of an increased academic resilience will be an increase in academic engagement.

Abstract:

Alexithymia causes many problems in both personal and social life. What is the role early maladaptive schemas in development and maintaining of these problems? What is the role of difficulty in emotion regulation on the possible relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital problems? To achieve answers of such questions, the present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of difficulty in emotion regulation on the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and alexithymia. Two hundred and eighty seven married students (158 females, 129 males) who were living in Urmia participated in this study as volunteers. Participants completed the Farsi version of Toronto Alexithymia Scale (FTAS-20), Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (YSQ-SF), and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). Analysis of data involved both descriptive and inferential statistics including frequency, means, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficients and path analysis. The results showed a significant positive correlation between early maladaptive schemas, alexithymia, and difficulty in emotion regulation. The results of path analysis showed that the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and alexithymia was mediated by difficulty in emotion regulation. According to the results of the present study, it can be concluded that the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and alexithymia is not a linear and one dimensional correlation. Difficulty in emotion regulation can play a meditational role between the two.
