Ischemic Cardiac diseases are one of the main causes of human mortality and the imbalance of blood lipids is considered a risk factor for cardiac diseases. In this study, 60 healthy female students of medicine and medical sciences, enjoying a natural level of blood lipids were selected. They had a fixed diet from two weeks before the study up to the end. At the outset, after taking fast blood samples, 35 grams of walnut was added to their diets. 4 weeks later, their blood lipids and Lipoproteins were measured again. Firally, a significant decrease in LDL-c and triglyceride and a significant increase in HDl-c were observed. Total cholesterol ratio was not observed. The results indicated the profitable effects of walnut on the blood lipids.
