Abstract

The extensor tendons of the hand have numerous anatomic variations. Knowledge of these variations is essential during hand surgery, especially in tendon transfer operation. In this article, we have reviewed the anatomy of the extensor tendons and the probable variations. We have also reported a rare case of double extensor indicis proprious tendon which had two slips and two muscle bellies which were joint proximally at the origin.
