Title

A SURVEY OF THE QUALITY OF ADULT EDUCATION IN ADULT’S GUIDANCE SCHOOLS OF ISFAHAN (2008-2009)

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to survey the quality of ADULT EDUCATION in Isfahan. The methodology used in this study was descriptive. The measurement tools used in this study were Galbrath's Principles of Adult Learning Scale and an opinion questionnaire for ADULT STUDENTs. The statistical population included 55 adult teachers and samples of adult teachers and 480 ADULT STUDENTs in high school in Isfahan. 45 questionnaires of Galbrath's Principles of Adult Learning Scale was completed by teachers and 120 opinion questionnaires completed by ADULT STUDENTs. Statistical analysis used in this research was descriptive statistics like mean, frequencies and graphs. The results of this research indicated that there was a difference between the means of principles of adults learning variables for adult teachers in Isfahan and the mean of Galbrath's principles of Adult Learning Scale variables. The teachers in Isfahan performed poorer on LEARNER-CENTERED ACTIVITIES, assessing student needs, CLIMATE BUILDING and flexibilty for personal development. Also ADULT STUDENTs answers to questionnaire showed that instruction for adult was the difference in instruction for children. It is necessary for teachers to attend to the principles of adult learning in teaching ADULT STUDENTs.
