Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between GENDER and ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT considering AGE Guilan. An applied research method was descriptive - analytical. Data was collected using questionnaires. The used ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT Questionnaire was adjusted based on Allen and Meyer's (1990) items. The research population was the employees of the state organizations of Guilan province (N=10688) which was sample included 371 employees by means of Cohen, Morgan & Krjsay table. Data analyzed using the SPSS 18 software and using hierarchical regression was performed. The ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT in this study was higher than average (mean 66 percent of total score). The highest mean score of ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT was given to NORMATIVE COMMITMENT.At first, Results showed that there is no significant relationship between GENDER and ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT, CONTINUOUS COMMITMENT and NORMATIVE COMMITMENT but there is a relationship between GENDER and EMOTIONAL COMMITMENT. When AGE was entered into the regression equation, it had no significant effect on the relationship between GENDER and organizational, affective and CONTINUOUS COMMITMENT, but the AGE caused there is a significant relationship between GENDER and NORMATIVE COMMITMENT.
