Title

COMPARISON OF NURSING STUDENTS’ SATISFACTION ABOUT TWO METHODS OF DEMONSTRATION AND SIMULATION FOR TRAINING OF MASK MAKING AGAINST CHEMICAL ATTACKS

  63-70

Abstract

Aims: The use of simulation is one of the new methods of teaching medicine. However, no study has been reported so far about the usage of this method and even the amount of SATISFACTION among learners in Iran and the world. The aim of this study was a comparison of SATISFACTION about two methods including demonstration and simulation among nursing students for the training of mask making against CHEMICAL ATTACKS in Iran. Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 78 nursing students were selected randomly and divided into two groups of simulation and demonstration training. Data collection was conducted by a researcher-made questionnaire. Data was analyzed using descriptive ad interpretive statistical methods and SPSS version 20.Results: T-test was used to determine the presence or absence of significant statistical difference among the average scores of students’ SATISFACTION. There was no significant difference between the SATISFACTIONs of students and average scores of two methods. (P=0.58) Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the SATISFACTION for two methods of demonstration and simulation but researchers suggest that SIMULATION METHOD can be used for mask making training against CHEMICAL ATTACKS as they believe that this method is the best way to promote military nurses ’education and control disaster situations.
