Abstract

 The aim of this research was to study the effect of training of EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE on confronting stress among high – school girl students in Ahvaz city. The statistical population in this research were all of the high – school girl students; among the above population 120 students were selected randomly as a sample, which divided into two groups of 60 as experimental group and 60 as control group. Test, used in this study was adolescent stress confronting questionnaires (ASCQ). The method used to assess the sample’s stress coping capacity was pretest-posttest method. After selecting the samples consist of (experimental and control group), both group were administered (ASCQ) test. Than the training of EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE was started for nine session of ninety minutes each one. At the end of training post-test was taken for both groups. The reliability of the test was measured with split-half correlation and Cronbach Alfa methods; also data was analyzed with correlation analyses covariance (MANKOVA).The results of the present study showed that training of EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE was more effective in COPING STRESS among girl’s students of Ahvaz high-school in the academic year 2009-10.
