Abstract

 This Study sought to examine the effect of staff’s personality features on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in Tehran. It aimed to investigate correlation between personality features (dutifulness, EXTROVERSION, DEPRESSION, ADAPTATION and SOCIABILITY) and OCB; and to determine the type of mathematical function of this correlation and its ideal point if existing. The population included Economic and Assets Affairs Ministry’s staff (205) from among whom 112 members were chosen as the sample based on stratified random sampling. The data gathering instrument was 2-part questionnaire including 5 dimensions of personality features (based on Padsakov’s model). The present questionnaire was verified in respect to validity and reliability. To analyze data, non-linear regression test was used. Results indicated that there were correlations among all personality features and OCB. From among 5 features of personality, SOCIABILITY, ADAPTATION, DUTIFULNESS, DEPRESSION, and EXTROVERSION had respectively the highest effect on OCB among the above-mentioned staff.
