Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between GENERAL HEALTH, COPING STRATEGIES and identity styles among students of Islamic Azad University of Tabriz. A total of 242 students were selected as the participants using stratified sampling and completed the GENERAL HEALTH Questionnaire (GHQ-12), the Ways of COPING STRATEGIES Questionnaire (WOC), and the Identity Style Inventory (ISI-6). The results of multiple regression showed that, among identity styles, the informational and commitment styles, and among COPING STRATEGIES, emotional COPING STRATEGIES are the predictors of GENERAL HEALTH. The results also revealed that high use of informational and commitment styles as well as problem focused COPING STRATEGIES are able to promote GENERAL HEALTH of students.
