Abstract

 The purpose of this study, "Comparison of coping styles and EMOTIONAL PROCESSING in normal students and students gifted high school" was. The method of this study is causal-comparative. The study population consisted of all normal and GIFTED STUDENTS in the city of Karaj in the 93-94 school year (N=1200). The study sample is consisted of 100 normal students and 100 GIFTED STUDENTS. These samples were available for sampling. To collect data, a questionnaire of EMOTIONAL PROCESSING Baker (2007) and coping strategies questionnaire Endler and Parker (1990) was used. For data analysis, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used. Based on the findings there is a significant difference between the two groups of students (gifted and ordinary) of coping style (P<0.03) and EMOTIONAL PROCESSING (P<0.01). GIFTED STUDENTS because of the resources and capabilities of the cognitive and EMOTIONAL PROCESSING and emotional regulation skills are different; As a result, the management of different emotions, coping style different experience.
