Abstract

Background: Activity of reproductive system begins whit puberty. The characteristic of puberty is MENSTRUATION. There are incorrect believes about MENSTRUATION and unhealthy behaviors of women in this period can provide background of pelvic infections. Side effects such as infertility can be leaded to social and economic problems and difficulties.Objective: To determine the HEALTH BEHAVIORs of menstrual period in FEMALE STUDENTS of Azad Qom university in 2007.Method: It was descriptive cross sectional study. Information obtained through 354 FEMALE STUDENTS of Azad Qom University in difference courses with random sampling and using questionnaires that included personal data and behavioral questions. Data were analyzed by using SPSS software.Results: Findings showed that the most of subjects (87.6%) had intermediate behaviors, 4.8% had unfavorable behaviors during MENSTRUATION period. Only 7.3% of participants had appropriated behaviors.Results: This study showed that most of students had not had appropriated behaviors and implementation of educational program in the university is recommended.
