COMPARISON OF LIFE SATISFACTION IN BLIND AND DEAF STUDENTS WITH NORMAL STUDENTS OF HAMADAN’S SCHOOLS IN 2014

Abstract

 Introduction: One of the indicators of mental health is LIFE SATISFACTIONs that affects people’s quality of life and because of exceptional children have different characteristics and abilities in compare with normal children, LIFE SATISFACTION; they may be influenced by the type and level of their disability. The aim of this research was to comparison of LIFE SATISFACTION in BLIND and DEAF with normal STUDENTS in the Hamadan city.Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 21 BLIND and 66 DEAF STUDENTS with Census sampling and 174 normal STUDENTS were selected by Cluster random sampling in Hamadan in 2013. Data collected using the Multidimensional STUDENTSLIFE SATISFACTION (MSLSS) was performed and Data analyzed by T-student and ANOVA and using SPSS version 18.Results: The results of t-test showed that the level of LIFE SATISFACTION in two groups, exceptional and normal of STUDENTS are not the same and there is a significant difference (P<0.05), as ANOVA results showed that the LIFE SATISFACTION in three groups of STUDENTS, BLIND, DEAF and normal is not the same and there is a significant difference (P<0.05). Between the dimensions of LIFE SATISFACTION in three groups of STUDENTS are also significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion: Final results showed that the most level of LIFE SATISFACTION in normal STUDENTS and the lowest level of LIFE SATISFACTION in BLIND STUDENTS there, that health promotion interventions need to more consider and specific plan.
