Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of Computer Literacy among the Teachers of public high schools in Khorramabad city. The present study is an applied research which uses descriptive-survey method for data collection purposes. The statistical population of the study consisted of all the Teachers of public high schools (level 1) in Khorramabad city (N=1083) in the academic year of 1397-98. The sample of the study was selected based on cluster sampling procedure, using Krejcy Morgan's (1970) table (N=411). To analyze the data, independent-samples T-test, Friedman rank test, and one-way analysis of variance were used. The data collection instrument was a researcher-made Computer Literacy questionnaire. The results of the research showed that in general, Teachers rated their Computer Literacy lower than the average, and their skills in using the Internet and WORD were higher than other computer skills. There was no meaningful relationship between the level of Computer Literacy and the demographic characteristics of the target sample, including gender, teaching experience and academic qualifications.
