Abstract

In this research that was done to survey GONABAD medical sciences college STUDENTS DEPRESSION rate, the total of 291 of the STUDENTS (59 males and 232 females) were surveyed by Beck DEPRESSION inventory. The results showed, the average DEPRESSION rate of total, femal and male STUDENTS was respectively 13.40, 13.50 and 13 and the rate and severity of DEPRESSION was respectively 62.5 (slight 39.2) medium 18.9 rather sever 3.4 and sever 1 percent) 63.8 (slight 40.1) medium 19.4 rather server 3.4 and sever 0.9 percent) and 57.6 percent (slight 35.6) medium 16.9 rather sever 3.4 and sever 1.7 percent). At the same time average and severity of the STUDENTS DEPRESSION with considering the other demographic factors as: age) marriage condition, living location, academic course and term and menses condition (in females) was certified and showed a meaningful relation by statistics tests between the average DEPRESSION and demographic factors of marriage condition and the term and between DEPRESSION severity and demographic factors of living location, academic course and term. And then in this survey the whole affective - emotional cognitive - motivational, vegetative - physical signs was recognized) that affective -emotional signs DEPRESSION is more prevalence than cognitive – motivational and vegetative -physical signs DEPRESSION.
