Investigate the Mediating Role of Academic Self-Regulating in Relationship between Academic Counseling Quality and Educational-Vocational Undecidedness in High Schools Students

Abstract

 Purpose: The purpose of present study was to investigate the mediating role of academic self-Regulating in Relationship between academic counseling quality and educational-Vocational Undecidedness in students of High Schools. Metodes: This study was a correlational research that carried out using structural equation analysis. The population of the present study included all students of high schools of Ardakan city in 2015-16 academic year. 294 students were selected by randomly cluster sampling. Data gathered by academic self-regulating scale, consultation and relational empathy scale and educational-Vocational Undecidedness scale and analyzed by Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling. Results: The results show that academic counseling quality directly the educational-vocational undecidedness in students; also, by affecting on the self-regulated learning, indirectly affect educational-vocational undecidedness (p<0. 01). Finally, fitness indexes indicate a good fitness for the proposed model. Nevertheless, the direct effect was greater than indirect effect by the academic self-reguling. Conclusions: Based on the results, it can be concluded that academic self-regulating, in relationship between academic counseling quality and educational-vocational indecision, play a mediating role, such that increase in academic counseling quality may decrease educational-vocational indecision in junior high-school students and increase strategies for academic self-regulation.
