Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the relative frequency of KNOWLEDGE OF RESULTS (KR) and CONTEXTUAL INTERFERENCE(CI)on the performance and LEARNING of generalized motor programs (GMP) and PARAMETERIZATION . Participants (N=64) in four groups conditions (Random%100KR ,Random%50 KR-fade, Blocked %100 KR, Blocked %50KR-fade)practiced a sequential timing task. Experiment consisted of four phases: acquisition,immediateretention,delayed retention and transfer. The data was analyzed with ANOVA with repeated measures on the blocks of practice. The results showed that reduced frequency of KR increased GMP learning, and decreased PARAMETERIZATION LEARNING .Finally findings support from the dissociation of GMP processing and PARAMETERIZATION processing and generally support from Guidance hypothesis.
