Abstract: 

Examination is a key component of education. Quizzes can motivate students to be prepared in advance, and encourage them to accompany the lecturer in the teaching. This is a tool applicable for managing crowded classrooms. But designing and establishing quizzes in high circulation is the main obstacle in their vast application. Internet as part of today’s modern life is a foundation to overcome this limit. Universities as pioneer applicants of internet have already installed its infrastructure. Although everybody agrees that information technology (IT) is effective in education, unfortunately due the lack of demonstration and scientific evaluation of its capabilities, it is not adopted in current practice. Following an effective learning paradigm, this article surveyed “Simultaneous Electronic Response System” and assessed its applicability to involve engineering students in learning especially by establishing large-scale online quizzes. Results confirmed the system’s performance and registered improved learning.

Abstract: 

Educational motivation plays an important role in classroom learning. But a careful research in this field has not been done yet in Iran. In this research, we try to study the relations among different factors like individual, family, social, and school with educational motivation. The research sample included 1015 persons (445 girls & 570 boys) of high school students in Mazandaran province. In this research the participants were selected by combination sampling (simple & cluster) and completed two questionnaires one of which was Noviki-Streakland and the other was made by the researchers. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS. Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis were carried out. The research results reveal positive significant correlations between student’s motivation and individual factors, institutional factors, and social factors. Social- economic status of student’s families, however, did not show any significant correlations with motivations; while other family factors were found to be important. We can conclude that the student learning motivation is not a purely internal and psychological phenomenon but is much related to external factors such as social, institutional, and individual factors.

Abstract: 

Cognition about mental and psychological factors, influencing the architectural design, is one of the most important indicators of architectural education. This study examined the relationship between emotional intelligence and architectural design skills in architecture students of Deylaman Institute of Higher Education. Sixty five architecture students were selected from the University of Deylaman by Simple Random Sampling. The emotional intelligence of each student was measured by the Brad berry and Greaves (2004) test. Scores of design 2 and GPA of students was interpreted as indicators of progress in architectural design and academic achievement. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive and inferential methods containing correlation analysis, independent samples test and one-sample t-test and utilizing SPSS software. In conclusion we found that there is no significant relationship between emotional intelligence and both academic achievement and scores of design2 of students. Furthermore, the findings also showed no significant difference between the emotional intelligence of men and women. Research results indicate no significant difference between emotional intelligence and academic achievement of students of architecture and architectural design skills. The impact of emotional intelligence in professional success and lack of significant relationship between EQ and architectural skills, points to the fact that architecture faculties should enhance EI of architecture students by necessary training courses.

Abstract: 

Paying attention to the programs and education methods shows that educational aids is one of the main bases in broadening education in two recent decades. One of the educational aids in Power Engineering is the use of software study Power Systems consisting of Digital Simulator for Electrical Network (DIgSILENT), Power System Computer Aided Design (PSCAD/EMTDC) and SIMULINK/ MATLAB. Their use assists the understanding of the main power engineering discussions and supplies probability grouping in the classroom. This paper refers to some special capabilities and applications from one of the software in the study and education in different Power Engineering discussions. In this research, education examples from different Power Engineering discussions have been shown to be influential as educational aids in the field. The results showed that the use of this software makes transfer simpler and more meaningful to the students.

Abstract: 

One of the important problems in mathematics education is how todevelop a deep understanding of definitions, theorems and mathematical structures. In order to achieve this, the teacher should explain all his knowledge and tools and the student should try to understand. This paper first discusses the concept of mathematics as the subject of academic debate and mathematical methods will be discussed, in both areas, the practical examples of how the project is presented. First, an algorithmic approach is proposed and an algorithm is implemented, to create a deep understanding of concepts derived. Next, discussion as an educational method for a deep understanding of concepts of derivative and the concept of function is expressed. In this paper, using the results of a study at Shahrood University and other documents, the effectiveness of the discussion method is demonstrated.

Abstract: 

Nowadays, in an effort to improve learning process, the application of new and active techniques in teaching methods, instead of the traditional method of teaching is essential. One active teaching method in science teaching is hands-on and laboratory methods. To improve some of the deficiencies in the laboratories, the use of simple tools and hand-made instrument is suggested. In this regard, this study is trying to review the effect of using the experimental hand-made instruments on the first year high school girl students' academic achievement, knowledge, comprehension and application in the subject of light-refraction. This study was a quasi-experimental research and its method is Solomon four groups design and the population is 527 high school girl students in Dehgolan city and its suburbs. The samples are four groups including 97 people. Selection of the school and classes was done randomly. Two experimental groups were taught with the use of the hand-made instruments and two control groups were taught with traditional method. Results of the analyses showed that there was a significant difference at 0.05 percent (p<0.05) between the experimental and control groups in academic achievement and application. The findings of study suggest that the teaching of light-refraction by hand-made instruments is more effective than the traditional teaching without using hand-made instruments on the development of learning and application.

Abstract: 

The main purpose of this paper is the identification and determination of effects of using education by argumentation maps on the improvement of the average grades of critical thought in the students. This research ‎is modeled in a multi-group semi-experimental project with pre and post examination. This project is carried out to find out the rate of think and logic testing ‎using Watson Glaser Critical thought. The research sample ‎included 60 girls and 60 boys at EIVAN Township. The participants who were studying in ‎the second grade in guidance school at academic year 89-90. Four groups took part in the study, which were selected using random sampling from students‎in the second grade of guidance school. The experimental group was taught in ‎‎seven 90 minutes sessions using argumentation maps and was exposed to the experiments and ‎responsible learning. Two weeks after the end of the project, the Critical thinking test was carried out again. The data were analyzed using statistical ‎indices such as: average, variance, amplitude and percent of amplitude. Then the assumptions of ‎research are analyzed using test (t), variance and covariance analyses. The analyses of the ‎obtained data shown that using argumentation maps in the class for science subjects ‎is more effective on increments of the grade averages of critical thought for girls and ‎ boys students.‎
