The subject of this research is content analysis of social news of Iran and Aftab Yazd newspapers (as independent variables) with regard to professional principles in news writing. The research aims to identify and analyze the social section of those newspapers focusing on professional principles of journalism in News formatting, as well as application of news featuring rules.The study is based on the agenda setting theory and prioritizing the news media so that result to public opinion priority setting as well as based on news writing principles.Dependent variables of this research include: area of the event, the relation between main headline & main subject, repetition of words in main headline, headline types, correlation between the title and the lead in Inverted Pyramid style, featured value in headline, verb position in headline, adjectives in main headline, subheads, headline subtitles, news source mention, news source type, photo usage in news, photo caption advantage, photo size, news subjects, news experts, news types & news groups.Result of the study shows that neither Iran nor Aftabe Yazd newspapers can play a role model of professional journalism in Iran. During the research observed that in some cases these newspapers did not follow the professional principles in featuring & news writing.Generally speaking Iran newspaper did not act professionally in main headline highlighting, resource mention, photo usage & news experts; whereas Aftabe Yazd newspaper was more professional in source mention, photo usage, news experts & news type.
