Abstract: 

Designing based on principles of adult learning is an essential part of medical education. Accordingly, mortality and morbidity conference designed with inter professional education approach and CME score. After implementation, its satisfaction and acceptability and educational impact was assessed. This is a triangulation study. Monthly morbidity and mortality conferences with CME score was held during one year in 22 ndBahman teaching hospital. The tools that be used were pre and post-tests and a satisfaction questionnaire developed by the researcher Also a semi structured interview was done with 10 people who were participated in 5 or more conferences. Data was analyzed by SPSS software. Content analysis was done about interview transcripts. 202 medical professional people with average 37years old include 71%female and 29% male. 96% of participants have assessed attractiveness of these programs as very good. Pre and post-tests scores showed significant differences (p-value£0.0001) and indicate increased of the learners’ knowledge. In qualitative data analysis, 95% of participants stated that will change their behavior, clinical reasoning and decision making. Also they found improvement in professional interpersonal communication, awareness of system based practice, effectiveness of inter professional education and learning from real errors, patient safety and quality of care as the positive outcome of it. High satisfaction that expressed by these medical professionals confirmed the effectiveness and fairness of the conferences.

Abstract: 

Clinical environment as the most effective context for teaching clinical skill and knowledge is important. According to importance of clinical education and rectifying its weaknesses, this study was designed to survey the students and teachers attitude on barriers and facilitating factors in clinical training. Method; this cross-sectional study was conducted at Bushehr University of Medical Sciences in 2010; the study also was done on 147 clinical students in nursing, midwifery and medical students in clerkship and internship stage. Data was collected using a questionnaire that was adjusted according to variu study and its validity determined with content validity. Then, result showed that 42.4% of student was clerkship and 56.5% was internship, and 84.8% of students interested in their field. 97.9% of students believed that instructors, affableness is the most important facilitator in their clinical teaching; although 91.36% of participants believed that major barriers were lack of equipments, facilities and standard wards for clinical teaching. There was a significant difference in attitudes of students toward faciliating factors (P<0.01). and barrier factors (P<0.01), respectively. In addition, there was no significant difference between mean scores of eight areas regarding sex, marital status and stage of clinical education (p,0>0.05). Identifying problems of clinical education and taking action to eliminate or modify barriers as well as enhancing facilitating factors in clinical teaching, therefore, will probably increase productivity and ultimately training skilled educated members to provide high quality care to patients.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to compare Factors that affect “Student Evaluation of Teaching” from both teachers’ and students’ points of view in Shaheed Sadoughi Universityin medical sciences, Yazd, Iran in 2012. The statistical population consisted of all teachers at this university Then 120 teachers and 120 students were selected through stratified sampling method. Their views were gathered by similar questionnaires with two sections. The used questionnaire was developed by the researcher and its validity and reliability has been measured. Data was analyzed by SPSS software through descriptive statistics and statistical tests (t test and Mann Whitney test). Based on the results, teachers and students considered effecting factors consisted of teaching skills in theory courses, teaching skills in practical courses, teacher’s characteristics (demographic, personality and communication) and student characteristics. The results showed similarity between the views obtained from the teachers and students, however, there were significant differences between the views of teachers and students. It would be indicated that the process in which evaluation of teachers by students and feed back to terchers helps to improve teaching and education promotion.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to compare the views of faculty members and medical students of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences on ways to enhance the quality of the morning reports. The population of this cross sectional study consisted of 41 faculty members and 103 students were selected by a purposive sampling method, and data collection tool was self-administered questionnaire consisting of 15 questions designed through using reputable sources of medical education. Moreover, T-Test and Chi square test was used for data analysis. The instructors viewed (41.5%) the main criteria for patients selection was patients with uncertainty diagnostic, and from students point of view (47.6%), it was patients were suffering from common diseases. In addition, both groups mentioned that the best source for patients selection was patients who had been admitted to the emergency room yesterday, and the most appropriate method to assess the student was question and answer during sessions; the best time allocated for the patient presentation was between 30-20 minutes as well as most of the them believed that the two cases were enough to introduce each session. From the perspective of most instructors, the main topics for discussion in morning report eincluded step by step approach to disease; whereas the students’ viewpoints were tests interpret and how to Follow up of patients. Therefore, morning reports meeting in addition to training, should lead to formation of creativity and also critical thinking, and to make them a commitment and professional responsibility.

Abstract: 

The mission of organizations’ activities, especially hospitals, is to ensure the growth and sustainability of activities, continuous acquisition of knowledge and the development of new knowledge. In other word, old methods of administrating can’t cover today’s rapid changes, and these changes redounded new concept like knowledge management to be formed. Hence, the aim of this study was to design a knowledge management model in Esfahan hospitals. This study was a descriptive - correlation survey conducted in selected Isfahan hospitals. The validity of questionnaire was computed by experts judgment, and the reliability was also computed by using Cronbach alpha. Afterwards, to confirm the acquired factors confirming factor analysis (CFA) Method was used; data analysis was done through Confirmatory Factor Analysis by Using AMOS version 16.0. Finally, Refine Knowledge (0.94) had the highest regression weight or effect and Disseminate Knowledge had the lowest regression weight .The Capture Knowledge (0.84), Application Knowledge (0.24) , culture knowledge (0.67), and evaluation Knowledge (0.53) were determined as an effective dimensions for Knowledge Management Model. Refine Knowledge had the highest regression weight on Knowledge Management This means that the use of new knowledge in their proper place should be undertaken.

Abstract: 

Students’ expectations and attitudes about their academic field and prospective job are two effective factors for their motivation. This study was aimed to study the relationship between the expectation of academic field and attitude about prospective job among students in school of health at Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical sciences in 2014. In this descriptive-analytical investigation, 242 students contributed to answer the study instrument which was a researcher-made questionnaire including 26 questions; it was included 13 questions for demographic questions, 13 questions for investigating students’ expects, and their attitude about job prospect. The correlation between these items and demographic field were investigated; in addition, collected data were analyzed having used analytical and descriptive statistics in spss17, 68.6% of participations were highly expected corresponding to their academic field, and 79.3% of students had hopefully positive attitude about their future job. Furthermore, these two variables were significantly correlated and effecting each other. Accordingly, this study has addressed positive view of students in terms of their academic field and job prospect, moreover, results of This study can be applied in future plans and create more clear scene about their job prospect, in terms of job and employment in future life.

Abstract: 

One of the most important duties of an educational system is to prepare people to have an effective and successful social communication, and one of the key factors in an effective and successful social communication is creativity. To improve the students’ creativity, an educational system could use more likely artistic methods of training. Hence, the aim of the current experimental study was to investigate the effectiveness of an arts synthetic training method on students’ learning and creativity. Using multi-stage cluster sampling, sixty kindergarten male students were selected, and then randomly designed into experimental and control groups; then they took part in 14 one-hour sessions of training some of Farsi letters either traditional or arts synthetic method. Finally, they were asked to complete Torrence Creativity Scale and a learning assessment test. According to obtained results, it is noteworthy that the arts synthetic method of training in comparison to the traditional method of training caused more increase in the students’ creativity. Although, the results didn’t show any significant differences between the two groups in their learning of the letters. Regarding to the variety and flexibility of the arts synthetic method of teaching, the education system could use this method, moreover, especially at elementary schools to facilitate their creativity and improve their inner motivation to study and learning.

Abstract: 

One of the initiatives in education is Peer Assisted Learning system in which students play the role of teachers or their assistant. Regarding to benefits of this system, the present study aimed to survey the attitudes of medical and dental teachers’ of schools at Babol university of medical science on peer assisted learning. Following a literature review, the researchers designed a questionnaire on benefits of peer assisted learning, then the study’ population consisted of 214 medical and dental school teachers whom were selected randomly and, participated. The collected data were analyzed with Chi-square statistical test. The results showed that this system has the most impressions in student’s self-confidence (50%) and student’s communication skills (48.5%). Regarding to this results, it can be concluded that the dental and medical teacher’s agreed with benefits and application of this system, As well as implementation of this active learning system would lead in capable work force.

Abstract: 

Due to the importance of scientific collaboration and interaction, and using social networks, present research was conducted to investigate on the scholars participation, at Ahvaz Universities including Medical Science, Azad and Governmental, in Research Gate seen as an academic social network. In current study, Scientometrics approach and Altmetrics method were used. Findings indicated that most scholars of 3 main and important universities in Ahvaz named JundiShapur Ahvaz, Shahid Chamran Ahvaz and Azad werer active in Research Gate and shared their works with others scholars. This paper revealed that scholars of Ahvaz Azad University (Science and Research Unit) had the highest presence and action in the Research Gate. Accordingly, Scholars must adapt themselves with new technologies and information ground, moreover, establishing some workshops for scholars and faculty members to make them familiar with academic social networks and to use them can increase their scientific status.

Abstract: 

The effective conditions on clinical education and learning chiefly nursing fundamentals may affect acquiring primary clinical skills. This study was conducted to recognize status and challenges of clinical education of undergraduate nursing fundamentals in nursing and midwifery school of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences. This qualitative study used content analysis approach and focus groups discussion, and forty-two beneficiaries participated from nursing and midwifery school and clinical setting including managers, faculty members, trainers, and nurses. After data analysis of focus interviews, the merged variety codes were compared for differences and similarities then were put in subcategories and categories. Finally, four themes were merged: “program and integration planing; humanity communicatoin management; barriers and facilitators; and perceptions and feelings. Nursing fundamentals education process suffers challenges of insufficient integration of academic, clinical and faculty gap, insufficient management staffing inside and outside o, student’s lack of proper understanding of learning and professional duties also insufficient control of barriers and insufficient use of facilitators. Regarding to their administrative, educational and clinical experiences, the participants reached consensus about the necessity of reforming and restructuring clinical education in a participatory manner to meet shortages.

Abstract: 

Mental health is one of the fundamental issues of student life; giving enough attention that has a direct effect on the growth and development of society, and addressing is the main condition for efficient utilization and educated resources. The present survey was a descriptive-cross sectional study, and the population consisted of 450 students at medical sciences university-Abadan international department that among them 165 subjects were selected through cluster sampling. The data was collected by using the general health questionnaire (GHQ-28) and demographic questionnaire. To determine the students having and lack of the problems, we used the section point 23 as well as used the section point 6 for each of the domains. Then, the data was analyzed by descriptive statistics (percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (T-Test and correlation coefficient) with software SPSS15. The results showed that the prevalence of mental disorders in 163 college students (48 male and 115 female) was 2.5 percent and in each domain: physical disorder 3.6%, anxiety disorder 2.4%, social function disorder were 33.2%, and the rate of depression was 1.2%, in which the social function disorder was highest and the depression was lowest. There was no significant difference between the mean mental health in men and women at level of 0.05. In addition, there was no significant difference between the mean mental health for single and married student at level of 0.05. Moreover, there was a significant correlation between the mental health score and the order of children birth at the level of 0.05 and at this domain; the correlation coefficient in depression was 0.245, and it was 0.166 in anxiety. However, we observed no significant correlation between the mental health score and the mean the student. To Conclusion, the financial position is one of the most important factor in general health level of students, therefore, the respectful administrators should pay enough attention to the more welfare facilities of student in the lower social classes is necessary.
