STYLES OF FORMATION OF IDENTITY: INTERACTION BETWEEN GENDER AND CULTURE

Abstract

 The aim of this research is to compare the styles of formation of identity based on GENDER and CULTURE. For this purpose, 384 pupils (193 boys and, 191 girls) from Teheran and 374 pupils (181 boys, 194 girls) from Sanandaj were selected and answered the identity styles inventory of ISI-6G (by White et al., 1998). This instrument determines three STYLES OF IDENTITY: Informative, normative and diffusion. The results indicated that the boys used diffusion style more than the girls and then the girls have more informative identity than the boys. According to the results Kurdish students has more diffusion than students from Tehran and those from Tehran showed more informative identity than the Kurds. The interactions between GENDER and CULTURE have though a significant impact on the three STYLES OF IDENTITY. The conclusion is that the development of identities is influenced by GENDER, CULTURE and their interactions. French: Styles de formation d’identite: L’interaction entre genre et CULTURE Le but de cette recherche est de comparer les styles de formation d’identite par le genre et la CULTURE. A cette fin, un echantillon compose de 758 eleves ont ete choisi (384 eleves sont de Tehran: 193 garcons, 191filles et 384 eleves de Sanandaj: 181 garcons, 194 filles). Ces eleves ont repondu au inventaire revisee de styles d’identite (ISI-6G par White et al, 1998). Cet instrument determine trois styles d’identites’ a savoir informative, normative et diffusion. Les resultats ont indique que les garcons ont utilise l’identite de diffusion plus que les filles et que les filles ont plus d’identite’ informative que les garcons. D’apres ces resultats les eleves kurdes ont plus d’identite de diffusion que les Teherani et les Teherani ont utilise plus d’identite informative que les Kurdes. Les interactions entre le genre et la CULTURE ont donc un impact significatif sur les trois styles d’identite. En general, le developpement d’identites est influence par le genre, la CULTURE et leur l’interaction.keywords: Styles d’identite, Le genre, La CULTURE, L’engagement d’identite’ Spanish: Estilos de la identidad: La interaccion entre el genero y la cultura El proposito de esta investigacion es comparar estilos por identidad de genero y el proposito de entre 384 alumnos (193chicos, 191chicas) que viven en Teheran y 375 alumnos (181chicos, 194chicas) que viven en la ciudad de Sanandaj que hablan Kurdo fueron elegidos los ‘muestra y responde a la ISI-6G (inventario revisado estilo de identidad por White y sus companeros, 1998) Este instrumento determina tres estilos de la identidad.: Normativa informativo y difusa / evitacion y el compromiso de la identidad. Los resultados mostraron "que los ninos utilizan" difusa / evitacion de identidad "mas que las ninas y las ninas que mas de la informacion de identidad de los ninos. Con base en las tasas de kurdos han mas que la identidad de Teheran "difusa / evitacion y Teheran han utilizado" mas de la identidad kurda informativo. La interaccion entre el genero y la cultura tiene un efecto significativo en los tres estilos de la identidad.
