Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of parental group training using Satir’s family therapy approach on FAMILY EMOTIONAL CONDITIONs. It was a semi-empirical study including pre and posttests with a control group. Statistical population included all female students in secondary schools, district 2 in Kerman in 2011-2012. 30 students were selected among population with cluster multi-stage random sampling method and they were placed randomly in two equal experimental (15 person) and control groups (15 person). In order to gather data, a questionnaire of FAMILY EMOTIONAL CONDITION was used, it was developed by Hilburn, 1964. At first, the pretest was implemented on both groups, then parents of the experimental group were trained during 8 sessions, in 90 minutes and no intervention was used for the control group, after training was finished, posttest was implemented on both groups. The obtained data using the SPSS-19 software was analyzed through covariance analysis. Results showed that there was a significant effect in parental group training using Satir’s family therapy approach on the improvement of FAMILY EMOTIONAL CONDITION (P<0.001).
