Abstract

The purpose of this study was predicting ambiguity and role CONFLICT, burnout, and aspects of the four spillover counselors stress concentration centers of the city was based on some of their DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS. The research method was correlation and causal comparative. The main question was, is it possible to predict ambiguity and role CONFLICT, burnout and stress spillover base on their DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS? The statistical population was the male and female Counselors working in counseling centers in Isfahan, including public and private counseling centers, among them 118 counselors were selected using simple random sampling. The assessment tools included stress spillover questionnaire (Grzywacz & Marks, 2000), the scale ambiguity and role CONFLICT (Rizzo, House and Lirtzman, 1970), Burnout Inventory (Maslach, 2001) and DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS questionnaire. The results by using stepwise multivariate regression analysis method showed that: ROLE AMBIGUITY cannot be predicted based on DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS (F=0.483 and P=0.832). While role CONFLICT (F=38.54 and P=0.000) and burnout (F=6.66 and P=0.017) can be predicted based on DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS. Also results showed that there is a significant relationship between some of the stress spillover with each other (P<0.05) and with ambiguity and role CONFLICT and burnout (P<0.05).
