Abstract

The aim of current research was to design, edit and explore the fitting structural pattern of relations between variables ranging from math EPISTEMOLOGICAL BELIEFS, math GOAL-ORIENTATION, math SELF-REGULATION SKILLS, math SELF-EFFICACY and math previous performance with subsequend math performance in male and female students. This research wasconducted in two steps, primary and final. The aim of the primary study was to investigate the psychometric features (validity and reliability aneasures) of the tools. For the primary phase of the study, 140 high school students (first graders) were selected through a stage random sampling. For assessing students' previous and subsequent math performances, the final scores in eighth grade and first year of high school were used. Also, in the final phase, 420 high school students (first graders) were randomly selected for testing the intended hypothesis and suggested fitting research model. Data were analysized by using descriptive (mean, standard deviation) and inferential (structural equations modeling, confirmatory factor analysis) statrstics, using SPSS16 and AMOS16. Generally, in suggested research model there were no significant relations between straight paths of math EPISTEMOLOGICAL BELIEFS to math SELF-REGULATION SKILLS, math SELF-EFFICACY, math GOAL-ORIENTATION to math next performance, math SELF-REGULATION SKILLS to a math subsequent performance. Also, in the process of fitting and correcting suggested models it became clear that observed variables have a significant role in measuring research latent variables.
