RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT IN NURSE- MANAGERS IN MILITARY HOSPITALS

Abstract

 Introduction: nowadays, successful organizations have empowered and committed employees who have continuously work to improve systems and processes. With Changes and developments in the economy, health and management, a new paradigm such as self management, collaboration and co working, integrity of the quality of working and SPIRITUALITY organization is proposed. ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT and SPIRITUALITY is an important issue in the organization. The aim of this study has been done the correlation between ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT and SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE in nurses managers.Method: This study was descriptive–cross-sectional performed during 2010-2011. It accomplished with 133 nurses managers, supervisions and head nurses in five military hospital of Tehran military hospitals that selected by census sampling. for Data gathering. we use three questionnaires that including demographic characteristics, questionnaire of SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE and ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT. The data was analyzed with spss 16 software with using descriptive and analytical statistical tests (mean, standard deviation and chi-square test, Pearson correlation coefficient and simple linear regression).Results: The results showed that 82.7 percent of NURSE MANAGERS had high SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE and 96.2 percent had middle ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT. Correlation between domains of SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE (spiritual experiences, forgiveness) and ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT showed that it was significant (p<0.05).Discussion: in nursing SPIRITUALITY experience, managers could be creates a space of spiritual care for patients. We suggest that managers pay more attention to enhance the spiritual aspects of the work environment.
