DESIGNING AND TESTING THE MODEL OF PRECEDENTS AND OUTCOMES OF ISLAMIC WORK ETHICS

Abstract

 Background and Aim: With increasing of immoral behaviors in work environments, focus on ISLAMIC WORK ETHICS can play an important role in effective management of organizations. The present study has been concluded with the objective of designing and testing some of the precedents and important outcomes of ISLAMIC WORK ETHICS.Materials and Methods: The present research is a cross-sectional-correlational study. The research sample consisted of 250 employees of Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences in 2015 who entered the study using census method. Researcher-made questionnaire including demographic characteristics, Islamic professional ethics scale, job descriptive index and organizational commitment questionnaire were used to collect data.Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the data using AMOS 22 and SPSS 22 software applications.Ethical Considerations: Informed consent was obtained from the participants after explaining the objectives of study and confidentiality of information.Findings: The proposed model had a good fitness with some changes. Better fitness of the model was achieved through the correlation between the two-way errors (the path of JOB SATISFACTION to organizational commitment and the upgrade path to the working environment after eliminating three irrelevant paths of marital status (p<0.213), education level (p<0.225) and employment status (p<0.182) to Islamic work ethic from the proposed model.Conclusion: The findings showed that the ISLAMIC WORK ETHICS in organizations was related to the age, work experience and gender of the employees on one hand and leads to increased JOB SATISFACTION and organizational commitment on the other hand.
