Abstract

Introduction: Students are important as the future makers of any society, so studying and predicting their Personality traits due to Academic self-efficacy has an important role in the development of their community and their mental health. Methods: The present study is a cross-sectional analytical study. The statistical population consisted of all Students studying in Islamic Azad University of Boroujerd Medical Sciences during the year 2019-2020. Using simple random sampling method, 350 people were selected. Data collection was done by Short Form Personality Questionnaire and Academic self-efficacy Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), Pearson correlation coefficient matrix and Multiple Linear Regression Model were used for data analysis by SPSS software. Result: The results showed that Extroversion personality trait (P <0. 05 and B=5. 351) And Neuroticism personality trait (P <0. 05 and B =-3. 744) Can predict Academic self-efficacy. And Extraversion personality trait standard coefficient β = 0. 636 and Neuroticism trait standard coefficient β =-3. 744 showed that Extraversion personality trait is more important in predicting Academic self-efficacy than Neuroticism trait prediction. Conclusions: Based on the above findings, it can be concluded that Students with higher Academic self-efficacy have higher Extraversion personality and lower Neuroticism than Students who have lower self-efficacy and this in student education and performance. Their curriculum should be taken into consideration by professors.
