Abstract:

Pond Gold fish is more important for being native to Iran and being the most current fish in the houses, in aquariums, specially being a symbol for the fish on Haft-Sin. More importantly, new Infection and illnesses are transmitted to ornamental farms and aquariums and other farms for fish reproduction and breeding hereupon new fish entrance. The purpose was to investigate the parasite Infections of Gold fish circumstances and also to determine the level of its outbreak (percentage) and its insensitivity in the aquariums. In the present investigation, 300 Gold fish have gone under experiment and studied in aquariums in Spring Season in 2011. The samples are transferred to the laboratory alive and were experimented according to current methods of autopsy for providing moist hyoid. Then the parasite were identified using valid recognization keys (Jalali, 1998 & Payghan, 2001 & Mokhayer, 2010). In this investigation the following parasites in aquariums were identified which include a few kinds of single-celled Microsporidia sp., Trichodina sp., I.multifiliis and filled cells including: Dactylogyrus sp. (1), Dactylogyrus sp. (2), Gyrodactylus sp. Among the mentioned parasites, the level of Gyrodactylus sp. infection was more than other parasites (%18), then Trichodina sp. parasite (%15), Dactylogyrus sp. (1) parasite (%10), Dactylogyrus sp. (2) parasite (%8), I.multifiliis parasite (%4), Microsporidia sp. parasite (%3).

Abstract:

In recent years due to severe drought and reduced rainfall in the Khouzestan Province, water salinity in some inland fish culture sites reached up to 9 ppt. So this research was carried out over a period of 21 days in salinities (3, 6, 9, 12ppt) and fresh water (>1ppt) for control on growth performance and survival in fingerling silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix). For this reason silver carp) weight: 13.55±0.726 g and total length: 11.04±0.093 cm) were placed in 250 l- fibreglass tank) 10 silver carp / tank (at 24.16±1.35oC. These treatments were tasted in three replicates. Fishes were biometric once per week (7, 14 and 21 days) through out the experimental period for evaluation of growth. The result of this trial indicate that salinities up to and including 3ppt did not affect weight gain, specific growth rate, survival and length. Higher salinities (6 and 9 ppt) produced significant stress, and adverse effects on these factors. In 12ppt all fishes died prior to 7 days. Silver carp, a freshwater stenohaline fish, exhibited good growth without any signs of stress up to 3ppt salinity. Silver carp could be cultured successfully at salinity up to 3ppt but above this level, salinity-induced stress could adversely affect growth and survival.

Abstract:

This study aims to explore, the Dohezar river biological diversity and abundance of Macro benthos using demographic indicators from October 2010- 0ctober 2011. Samples of macroinvertebrates were collected monthly from 7 stations designated as station 1 (upstream of the river course) to station 7 (downstream of the river course) for a period of 12 months. A combined total of 60 families and 18 orders and 7 class species of macroinvertebrates were encountered in the study. with the sampling of benthic fauna of some physic-chemical factors such as temperature, BOD5, DO, pH were also measured at the station in that the above factors does showed significant difference at the probable level of 5% (P<0.05) Except DO that does not showed significant difference at the above-mentioned stations. The fauna data surveyed with using MARGALEF and BMWP & ASPT biological index. One-sided variance analysis test of BMWP & ASPT index indicates existing a significant difference among the stations in probable level of 5% (P<0.05). According to BMWP index, the highest mean belongs to station 2 with 119.8 score mean possibly due to minor contamination and the lowest score belongs to station 7 with 69.2 mean score which has the average level of organic contamination. The MARGALEF index does not showed significant difference at the stations in probable level of 5% (P>0.05). The reason that was probably effects high flow velocity Dohezar River and high self-purification capacity that cased to effluent dilution and effects adverse less. This study showed influence different pulsation such as effluent fish farms or excessive removal sands of bottom river in the stations up river diversity and abundance between sensitive families macro benthic to pulsations showed less but don't sensitive families in down river showed increased such as (Naididae,Tubificidae,Chironomidae,Simulidae,Baetidae,Hydropsychidae).

Abstract:

Sea cucumber is one of the echinoderms belonging to the branch of (Echinodermata) and from the class of (Holothuroidea) that has appeared during the evolutionary period, 540 million years ago in the oceans. At this time 1400 species of sea cucumber have been identified and reported in the seas of the whole world Sea cucumbers have many important and useful properties known for human health. Although sea cucumber is commercially important, its biology, ecology and dynamic of population have not been known yet. With this respect and the lack of scientific knowledge about them, this study has been conducted in order to identify the species present in the Larak Island in the Persian Gulf. two species of sea cucumber (two family, two species belong to genus Holothuria and another one species of Stichopus) were collected on sub tidal zone of the Larak Island (Persian Gulf) via scuba diving on January 2011. The species identification was done through morphological keys and review of their ossicles.

Abstract:

Zagros pupfish (Aphanius vladykovi) is a native species of Iran living in Zagros mountains (in Chaharmahal- va- Bakhtiari province). Because of the close habitats, this species is important in terms of biodiversity and evolution studies. several methods of staining and banding protocols including DAPI staining as well as C-, G-, NOR- and restriction enzyme- banding were used in this study. Diploid chromosome number for this species was found with modal number of 2n=48. G- banding produced distinguishable bands, however, C-banding did not show any clear bands suggesting lack of protein rich regions. Ag – NOR banding resulted in several bands particularly in telomeric regions of the chromosomes. In RE- banding experiments Alu I and BamH I restriction enzymes produced clear bands whereas Pst I failed to produce any clear bands.
