Decision-Making (DM) is one of the most important functions of a manager. Scientists have tried to find scientific methods in DM process for many years. On the other hand, designing as a combination of science and art, has three stages: preliminary, conceptual and detail design. Designers should make many decisios along these along these stages and select ofn between two or more alternatioves. Normally, a designer uses statistical data or his experiences to receive numeric and exact data in the first two stages. Because of many qualitative and quantive factors that make designing complicated, DM methods are used to make a nathematical model for selecting the best landing gear for an airplane, which is designed and manufactured by Iranian specialists. Airplane as a nonpareil innovtion of human being, has many different parameters to be considered in design and landing gear is an important part which makes airplane take off and land on the ground. The selection of appropriate landing gear between two or more alternatives has a big effect on the performance and operation of airplane and it makes DM sensitive. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) , as a decision making method with a great flexibility in use, is an effective net hod to make a mathematical model for selection of landing gear for F-3 aircraft. AHP shows that, spring fix gear is the best choice between the following fifth alternatives, spring fix gear, telescopic fix geare, lever suspension gear, telescopic retractable gear, lever suspension retractable gear.
