Abstract

Family is the first area to be affected in the formation of personality and parents are the principal transferring behavior in their children. The present study investigated the intermediary role of PERFECTIONISM in the relationship between parental bonding and anxiety in the student. For this purpose, 207 male and female students of Islamic Azad University of Beyza, with cluster sampling were selected. They answered the anxiety, PERFECTIONISM, and PARKER PARENTAL BONDING questionnaires. The findings were analyzed by means of PATH ANALYSIS. The results supported the role of intermediary PERFECTIONISM. Patterns for each of the predictor variables to predict the criterion variable by interface variable was different. Our results indicate that, in many parent-child relationships, not only the fathers will influencing children's future, but sometimes has more important performance than the mothers.
